Janet is a multidisciplinary artist born and grown in virginia, who has lived and worked in Richmond (powhatan land) since 2010. In 2014, they received their BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University with a focus in graphic arts and painting. in the years since, their practice has rooted across various processes and materials; non exhaustively including textile work, drawing, woodworking, and land art.

for the last several years, much of janet’s practice has focused on the impact of time on human-developed environments as a part of nature, and identifying then inviting the viewer to be with/in intersections of material and emotional space. their hope when making and sharing their work is to pay attention to the ways our decisions shape collective daily existence, to honor unearthed histories, and to consider possibilities for the future.
